Job Description:
My client a leading oil and gas producer with an enviable portfolio and reputation for innovation requires: Plant Operators to join the Operations group Northern Alberta.
The Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) Operations group consists of Steam Generation, Water Processing, Oil Processing, Field and Control Room teams. Reporting to the Area Process Foreman, you will be expected to operate the facilities in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner, to trouble shooting problems, and to assist with facility optimization efforts. You will work closely with the maintenance and other functional unit teams. You will be required to work 12 hour shift rotations.
Key responsibilities include: •Participating in and providing operational input into the plant operational efficiency initiatives •Operating the facilities as outlined in the operating plan •Participating with the team in developing a proactive and progressive culture ensuring all operating activities are carried out in a planned, efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible manner in compliance with all company and Regulatory health, safety and environmental codes, practices, policies, and regulations •Fostering an environment of continuous improvement and financial discipline •Developing and maintaining effective relationships with other work groups and with local stake holders and regulators •Tracking and reporting job performance indicators •Managing vendor performance by monitoring key performance indicators and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have: •Minimum of 3-5 years experience in the thermal recovery process, oil field steam generation, oil and water processing and oil field production operations. Previous control room experience is an asset. •Minimum third class Power Engineering Certificate (steam ticket). Preference will be given to candidates who have made progress toward a second class Power Engineering Certificate. •Strong trouble shooting and decision making abilities, as well as proven business sense. •Familiarity with government regulations, corporate policies and procedures. •Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. •Well developed computer skills in SAP, Excel and Word. •A valid class 5 Drivers licence.
